PROFESSIONAL APPOINTMENTS
Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada (July 2021-July 2024, Supervisors: James Feng & Eric Cytrynbaum)
Carried out research on viscoelastic mechanics involved in tissue deformation, heavy use of code optimization techniques to speed-up computations.
Investigated continual tooth replacement in lower vertebrates using ODE and PDE phase oscillator models.
See below for teaching duties.
Developer Oscilloscape, Hartford CT, USA (Sept 2020-May 2021)
Ported an existing C++ realtime DSP algorithm based on dynamical systems to Python for use on a Raspberry Pi device. Heavy use of parallelization, JIT-compiled code (numba), and functional programming to achieve near realtime (~10 ms) execution from easy-to-read Python code.
INTERNSHIPS & PART-TIME
Digital Signal Processing Intern Interaxon, Toronto, Canada (May-Aug 2019)
Tested the feasibility and applicability of the FOOF (fitting oscillations & one over f) methodology to data obtained from a consumer-grade EEG headband.
Web Developer Centre for Structural and Fungal Genomics (Concordia University), Montreal, Canada
Built a data pipeline for managaing an annotated database of enzymes of interest.(2009-2013)
